As part of our #Courageis Project for the 2017 Festival, we commissioned film-maker Giles Bowman to create an animated short Scout the Snail. The character is based on an original photograph by Kevin Boniface and made possible through the support of Arts Council funding. It has been created to be enjoyed equally by hearing people and those who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing. The 2017 Festival runs from 4-19 March and will include five events with Stagetext subtitling to improve accessibility. More information at www.litfest.org.uk
